This should be advice for all technology: learn the modes. If you want to get a particular look or shot you need to know how the RS 2 works in its various settings and at different follow speeds. Even if you are coming from a Ronin-S there are new modes in the RS 2.

Remain in Sport mode: Press and hold the M button and press the trigger twice to remain in Sport mode. Repeat to exit Sport mode

Even before it came out of the box, this system was already impressing the video team and getting them hyped to use it. New* Time Tunnel: The system performs a 360-degree roll while capturing a hyper-lapse, adding a level of creativity to footage. As before the operating time in ideal conditions is 12 hours, and a BG30-1950mAh 15.4 LiPo 4S is used to power the RS 2. This has a charging time of 1.5h, which isn’t at all bad. Adding a touchscreen was incredibly helpful. It means you don’t have to dive into the mobile app to make some of the changes and can more easily make adjustments in the field. It also shows off the current modes and settings, which can be helpful if you have multiple operators for the same gimbal as there were only LED lights available. it’s battery doesnt come off, the grip doesnt come off, this is the difference in the models. Want something more professional? go with the rs2 Raven Eye is useful and improves performance by ensuring you are using the camera’s feed, though it does eat up battery life so make sure to unplug it if you aren’t actively using it.

I also like all the added extras and on top of the prominent video features, there are also all the photo features such as panoramic, large scale image capture and plenty more.My favorite part of the RS 2 is the screen. You truly do not need the app to adjust any parameters of the gimbal, and everything can be done on the gimbal itself, which is nice when doing it on the run. While the app allows for an easier/more visible interface, with this new touchscreen LCD, you don’t actually need it at all (unlike previous generations), giving you the freedom to get up and running in whatever mode you need for those last-second shots. You can save space, time, and battery life by not using the smartphone app. Ergonomics & Design At the front of the RS 2, above the trigger, there is a dial. It can be set to many different controls and adjust the dial speed. Options include camera settings like aperture and ISO as well as gimbal settings like roll axis. The first major advantage of the new Ronin RS 2 is the size and weight; it’s smaller and lighter than the old Ronin-S. The weight reduction is welcome. However, I wasn’t so keen on the smaller and more compact sizing. There are lots of creative presets on board both gimbals, too, including the usual time-lapses and panoramas. But there's also a new option that's due shortly after launch – Time Tunnel will allow your camera to pull off a 360-degree roll while capturing a hyperlapse, which many cameras told us they were particularly excited about.
